ABOUT

This is an official webiste of photographic works by a Japanese photographer, TÔRU. He started his carrer as a photo journalist in Nairobi, Kenya. After internships in Magnum Photos and the New York Times in New York, he went back to Africa, this time Abidjan, Ivory Coast, as a freelance photographer for the New York Times. In 2004, he moved to Barcelona. After working as a freelance photographer in Barcelona for about 15 years, he went back to Japan. Currently he is based in a village deep in the mountains in Kyoto.
